With so much weird things going on in the world, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to actively try to spread more kindness. Being kind is a wonderful thing. You can truly change the course of someone’s day with your words and actions, so why wouldn’t you try to do that more? We will share 5 tips of how you can participate in spreading more kindness. Are you ready to make the world a better place?
1. Being kind can be free
The best thing of being kind is that it does not have to cost any money. Being kind is free. You can really make a change by doing small acts of kindness. Giving up your seat in the bus, telling someone they look nice or say hi to a stranger when you pass them on the street.
2. Give compliments to your friends on a regular basis
Is there anything better than receiving a compliment? Yes, there is one thing! Giving a compliment and seeing how it is being received. You can really make an impact on someone with your words. It can go both ways. If you say something nasty and rude, it can create sadness and anger. But if you do the opposite, say something kind and nice to someone, you can really make their day. Be mindful of your environment and the people in it. Compliment them on their looks, work, or anything else that stands out to you.
3. Make a donation to your favorite charity
Money can be tight for a lot of people, and it is understandable that you can’t donate millions. But often, every little bit helps. If you have some money left over at the end of the month after all your own bills are paid, consider donating a part of it to charity. Your contribution can really make a change, and no donation is too small.
4. Create a special care package for a homeless person
Living on the streets can be already very difficult. Especially during extreme weather conditions like cold and snowy weather. Creating care packages is a great way of reaching out to homeless people and giving them a little extra so they can take care of themselves a bit better. If it is cold, think about a warm coat, gloves, a beanie and socks. Besides clothing and items that they can use to keep themselves warm, also include food items in the care package. If you create a care package for a female homeless person, please also include feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads.
5.Help your neighbors with their daily tasks
Lending a helping hand will always be appreciated. Doing the neighborly thing will create a better bond between you and your neighbors. It can be small acts and gestures that can have a big outcome. Something like babysitting their kids for free so they can have a date night which they probably haven’t had in months. You allow them to spend some quality time together, just by offering a few hours of your day to do something for them. If you have elderly neighbors, spend time with them. The elderly can be very lonely at times, just go over and have a cup of coffee. These small things can have a huge pay-off.
